Senior supervisors with outstanding expertise in engineering, biomaterials science, biophysics, cell biology and medicine at five different faculties of RWTH Aachen University, the DWI-Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, as well as Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) are united together with theoretical biophysicist A.-S. Smith at Erlangen University (PULS) and two Mercator fellows at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Cornell University in Ithaca (NY) to realize MEƎT's mission. They are supported by junior supervisors who aid the doctoral researchers in carrying out the research projects and their scientific training. Dedicated teams provide scientific and administrative support to all MEƎT members. The advisory board is available for annual consultation on the development of the doctoral researchers' progress and teaching activities. An ombudsman has been appointed to mediate in conflicts that cannot be solved within MEƎT. Affiliates have agreed to contribute to MEƎT's endeavors in multiple ways.
