MEƎT's research concentrates on major aspects of epithelial tissue physiology by investigating force-guided differentiation, cohesion and penetration of epithelial spheroids (project area A), force-dependent homeostasis, responses and sensation in epidermal equivalents (project area B), and force-induced signaling, inflammation and cilia function in lung tissue models (project area C). The work is enabled and driven by a comprehensive basis of technological know-how (project area D).
